Local Bonfire and Fireworks displays this weekend in Formby, Hightown and across Sefton It is Bonfire Night this weekend and there are a few displays on locally for you to enjoy. If you want to stay local, you have a few choices available. Wherever you go, stay safe and have a great time. _____________________________ Saturday 4th November - Free Bonfire and Fireworks Night at the Hightown Pub


The Hightown Hotel invites you to join them for their FREE Firework Display Lower Alt Road in Hightown, L38 0BA. Fireworks start at 8pm and this is usually a truly fantastic display! This is completely FREE of charge and it does get busy so get their early! Lots of food and refreshments on offer at this great venue. ________________________________________________________ Saturday 4th November.....9th Formby Scouts Firework and Bonfire Party


Formby Scouts of St. Peter's Church in Formby offer their Fireworks Spectacular and Bonfire Party..... Formby Scouts at The Paddock on Cricket Path. The gates open at 6pm, the fire is lit at 6:30pm and the fireworks start at 7:30pm. This display is on every year and is very popular. This display goes on even if it is raining. There are refreshments offered and a fantastic bonfire and brilliant fireworks. Adults £3.00 - Children £2.00 - Family £10.00 Please DO NOT park in the Cricket Club car park. ________________________________________________ Sunday 5th November - Hightown Cricket Club Bonfire and Fireworks


The Hightown Cricket Club are holding their annual Fireworks Display and Bonfire. This is a very busy venue. Entertainment starts at 5:30pm with a childrens entertainer/Magician. The Bonfire is lit at 6:45pm and the Fireworks start at 7:00pm. There is also a fully licensed bar with hot and cold food available. Adults £5.00 - Children £3.00 - Family £15.00 This is at the Hightown Cricket Club, Thirlmere Road, Hightown, L38 3RQ _________________________________ Friday 3rd November - Southport Rugby Club 


Southport rugby club will host a 'fireworks extravaganza' this weekend. The club, located on Waterloo Road, in Southport, will host the event on Friday, November 3. Doors to the event will open at 6pm, and the fireworks are set to begin at approximately 7.45pm. Everyone is welcome to attend the family event, and there will be bouncy castles, live music, a BBQ, sweet stall and a bar on offer at the event. Children under three years of age can enter for free, entry for children under 13 will cost £5, entry for people under 16 will cost £6 and adult entry will cost £7. Alternatively, family tickets are also available, for two adults and two children, for £17. More details here ________________________________________________ Sunday 5th November - Maghull Cricket Club Bonfire Night party 


Maghull Cricket Club and Maghull Town Council will hold a community firework display. The event, which will take place on Sunday, November 5, will be held at Maghull Cricket Club, on Hall Lane. The bar will be open from 5.45pm, and soft and hot drinks will also be on offer. Maghull Town Councils annual fireworks display for Bonfire Night will be changing venue to Maghull Cricket Club and Old Hall Playing Field! We will have stilt walkers, fire breathers, fairground rides and food/drinks stalls all set for a fantastic night! Maghull Cricket Club will also be opening its doors (and its bar!) for the community, raising funds for the club. Soft and hot drinks and sweets will also be available. We hope you will join us for our fantastic celebrations! Please be aware that parking will be very limited and walking is recommended. Entry for under 12's costs 50p and over 12 is £1. A bonfire event will be held in Halsall this weekend. The event will take place on Saturday, November 4, and will begin at 6pm. It will take place at St. Cuthberts Primary school, on Hall Street. There will be a live DJ, fireworks, a BBQ, and refreshments on offer at the event. Everyone is welcome to attend. Adult entry will cost £5 and children/students will cost just £1. Victoria Park in Southport will host the Southport Hesketh Round Table Charity Fireworks and Family Bonfire this weekend. The event is in its tenth year and the spectacular will take place on Saturday, November 4, Tickets for the event can be purchased on the gate for £7, or £3 for under 11s, and under 5s are free. The firework show has always been a family event, but this year there’s even more entertainment for the children - including a performance from children's entertainer Taz, and StarKidz. There will also be live performances from local bands, and spectacular fireworks. Better yet, all money raised on the evening will be going to local charities and good causes. A free bonfire event will be held at Lakeside Church this weekend. The event, which is held at the church, on Fairway, in Southport, will take place on Saturday, November 4. It is set to being at 5pm and promised to be a 'fun night for all ages'. The free event offers a bonfire, amazing fireworks and a hog roast from local butcher Graham Eyes. Keep kids safe We want children to enjoy fireworks but they need to know that they can be dangerous if they are not used properly. Each year, over half of all firework injuries are suffered by children. Sparkler safety Did you know that sparklers get five times hotter than cooking oil? Sparklers are not toys and should never be given to a child under five.
