Merseyside Police is warning residents to be on their guard following a significant increase in losses from doorstep fraud, with bogus traders using increasingly sophisticated tactics to dupe vulnerable homeowners. Merseyrail has confirmed that trains between Southport and Hillside are currently cancelled or operating on a revised timetable due to a points failure at Southport station. During this disruption, all services will start and terminate at Hillside until further notice. Rail replacement buses are in operation between Hillside and Southport to ensure passengers can complete their journeys.
