A Little Girl, A Big Heart — and a Legacy of Kindness in Crosby

There are moments that stop you in your tracks and remind you just how powerful kindness can be and this is one of them.
Last August, a Crosby family suffered an unimaginable loss when they lost their beloved Georgie. She was described by those who knew her as one of the kindest people you could ever meet and even in passing, she continued to give. As an organ donor, Georgie saved the lives of complete strangers, leaving behind a legacy rooted in compassion and selflessness.
That legacy is now shining brightly through her niece.
In November, Georgie’s 11-year-old niece Lilly came home from school with a quiet but extraordinary idea. Inspired by her Auntie Georgie, Lilly asked if she could donate her own hair to help children who lose theirs through cancer. Not just a trim, a real, meaningful sacrifice.

Lilly chose to donate her hair to The Little Princess Trust, a charity that provides free, real-hair wigs to children and young people undergoing cancer treatment.
But Lilly didn’t stop there.
She set herself a goal: £1,400…enough to fund a wig and help towards a second one, giving another child confidence, dignity and comfort at one of the hardest times of their life.
On 27 December 2025, Lilly bravely had 12 inches of her beautiful hair cut off. A huge moment for anyone, let alone an 11-year-old. And today, she is just £93 away from smashing her target.
Yet in true Lilly fashion, she’s worried not about herself, but about the children she hopes to help. She feels she’s “let them down” by not quite reaching the goal yet.
Those who know better would say this:
Lilly hasn’t let anyone down. She’s lifted them up.
Her story is a powerful reminder that heroes don’t need capes. Sometimes they’re 11 years old, walking into a salon with courage in their hearts and kindness in their bones, carrying forward the love of someone they lost, and turning grief into hope for others.

Crosby, if ever there was a moment to come together, this is one of them. 💛
One final push could help Lilly reach her goal and help another child smile when they look in the mirror.
So proud of you, Lilly. Truly. 💛
Proof that not all heroes wear capes, some wear courage, compassion, and a brand-new haircut. ✨
