A man from Southport and a woman from Waterloo arrested for possession of criminal property

Merseyside Police Officers have arrested a man and a woman following the discovery of suspected drugs and more than £20,000 cash in Rainhill on Thursday 3 February.

A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said: “At around 3.40pm officers were on patrol when they noticed a Vauxhall Astra travelling along the M62 acting suspiciously.”

“Following a stop and search of the vehicle officers found suspected cocaine and more than £20,000 in cash.”

“A 55-year-old man from Southport has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving and in possession of criminal property, and a 32-year-old woman from Waterloo were arrested on suspicion and being in possession of a controlled drug and in possession of criminal property.”

“Both suspects are still in police custody.”
