A man from Waterloo who assaulted and harassed his victim over a period of two years has been jailed.
Callum Jones, aged 24, of Murat Grove, Waterloo has been jailed for four years and six months for assault causing actual bodily harm, battery, criminal damage and harassment at Liverpool Crown Court yesterday, Tuesday 13 January. Jones was also given a 15-year restraining order against his victim.
The court heard of several incidents including repeated assaults, non‑fatal strangulation, criminal damage, coercive and controlling behaviour, threats to kill, threats towards children, and harassment.
His victim reported numerous incidents to Merseyside Police involving physical assaults that required hospital treatment, threats towards her family and damage to her address.
Jones was then arrested and charged in 2025.
Detective Constable Ben Thomas said: “This was a shocking period of abuse by Callum that stretched over two years and it is right that he is now behind bars as a result of his actions.
