Today, Their Royal Highnesses The Prince and Princess of Wales visited Farnborough Road Infant and Junior School in Birkdale, Southport, in a deeply moving show of support for the community.
The visit follows the heartbreaking events of July 2024, when a horrific attack claimed the lives of three young girls and left Southport devastated. Since then, the town has shown extraordinary resilience, with Farnborough Road School at the very heart of that recovery.
The future King and Queen spent time with both pupils and staff, listening to their stories and offering words of encouragement. They heard how the school community has supported one another through an incredibly difficult year, and they praised the children for their strength and courage.
The Prince and Princess also joined in activities with the children, showing warmth and kindness that lifted spirits across the school. Their presence brought a powerful sense of comfort and solidarity, reminding everyone that the tragedy touched hearts across the country and that Southport continues to be held in the nation’s thoughts.

For many, this was a day that will never be forgotten. The royal couple’s compassion and support left a lasting impression, offering hope for healing and a brighter future for the children and families of our community.
❤️ Southport stood united today — and the visit from the future King and Queen will be remembered as a moment of comfort, strength, and togetherness.
