Bootle is preparing for one of its biggest weeks of live music as an incredible line-up of internationally renowned artists arrives for the Salt and Tar Music Weekender from Thursday 13th to Monday 17th August.

Billy Ocean, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, The Waterboys and The Saw Doctors are among the major names heading to Bootle, with thousands of music fans expected to visit the area across the five-day event.
This year’s Music Weekender will take place at The Lock & Quay site in Bootle, while Salt and Tar’s usual home undergoes exciting regeneration work.
With the event now just days away, The Lock & Quay has issued some important information for visitors after receiving a large number of enquiries.
Salt and Tar is running the Music Weekender
The Music Weekender is being organised and delivered entirely by Salt and Tar, rather than The Lock & Quay.
Anyone with questions about tickets, opening times, entry arrangements or other festival information should contact Salt and Tar directly or check the event information and FAQs on its website.
Food and drink at the festival
A selection of food and drink vendors will be available within the festival site throughout the Music Weekender. All of the traders operating inside the event have been organised and booked by Salt and Tar.
The Lock & Quay will remain open
The Lock & Quay will continue to operate independently alongside the festival.
However, because of the large numbers of people expected to arrive during peak periods, additional arrangements will be introduced for health and safety reasons.
At busy times, a one-way system will operate for people entering and leaving the pub, and there will be no seating available inside the pub during these periods.
The measures are intended to help safely manage the increased footfall around the site.
A huge week for Bootle
The arrival of artists including Billy Ocean, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, The Waterboys and The Saw Doctors promises to bring an incredible atmosphere to Bootle and attract visitors from across Merseyside and beyond.
With five days of live music ahead, excitement is building as the countdown begins to what is set to be a fantastic week for Bootle.
The Salt and Tar Music Weekender runs from 13th to 17th August at The Lock & Quay site in #Bootle.
