Commonwealth Games Bronze Medalist, Michael Hoare from Sefton doing LIVE PE Sessions on Instagram
Commonwealth Games Bronze Medallist, Michael Hoare who is from Sefton is now doing online LIVE PE Sessions on Instagram to help kids keep fit.
Michael plays club hockey in the Men’s England Hockey League Premier Division for Wimbledon.
He went to school at #RangeHighSchool in #Formby and made his international debut in 2012 when he competed for England in the Men's Hockey tournament at the 2014 Commonwealth Games where he won a Bronze Medal.
Michael is a qualified PE teacher and hockey coach. He is currently the player assistant coach for Wimbledon, Director of Hockey Development at Amersham & Chalfont HC, Hockey professional at Harrow School. As well as the founder and Director of a new coaching company The Hockey Lab.
Michael told Bubble Media: “I’ve started my own coaching company called The Hockey Lab UK. This lockdown I’m really trying to make a difference to replace kids online PE lessons or help parents who might need ideas/respite during home schooling as I have witnessed first hand how tough it can be.”
“Anyway, I’ve decided to start doing Instagram live sessions. Due to the number of people we feel need help and support at this time either by providing a replacement for PE/Games lessons, motivation to stay physically active around school/jobs or just to break the day up from home schooling or sitting at a computer.”
“Take a look at some of the taster sessions to give you an idea into how this can work and help you during the latest lockdown.”
“The session is with my 7 year old nephew and hopefully it shows how this can be a sport HITT session and can be altered to suit the needs of anyone, not just hockey players. So please direct anyone else you know to follow @thehockeylabuk or keep an eye on the posts for the times of the lives sessions. However, if you can't do the live event (which we really hope you will) it will still be there in our story for 24 hours and a shortened 15 minute version uploaded to Instagram IGTV afterwards as that’s all they allow.”

Michael Hoare/The Hockey Lab are doing live sessions on Instagram every Wednesday and Friday. The sessions can then be downloaded on the @thehockeylabuk Instagram page afterwards.
