Crosby man charged following M62 stop check

A man from Crosby has been charged with multiple offences after being stopped by police on the M62 last week.

At around 7.20pm on Tuesday 14 April, officers from Merseyside Police’s Matrix Roads Policing Unit carried out a stop check on a Ford Transit van at Junction 7 of the M62, where the driver was detained.

Following enquiries, Darren McDonnell, 41, of Edgemoor Drive, Crosby, has been charged with possession with intent to supply Class A, B and C drugs, driving while disqualified, and using a motor vehicle without third party insurance.

He has been remanded in custody and appeared at Wirral Adult Remand Court on Thursday 16 April.

The charges come as part of ongoing work under Project Medusa, a Merseyside-led initiative targeting suspected County Lines drug dealing and the exploitation of young people across the country.
