Edge Lane in Netherton is closed for vital improvements until 20th December

The second phase of vital improvements on Edge Lane in Netherton have now begun. Edge Lane is closed completely in both directions today.
The vital improvement works will include the completion of the new left hand turning lane on Buckley Hill Lane and general works to help enhance pedestrian facilities at the junction.
Contractors will undertake the works from week commencing October 28 and are expected to take up to eight weeks to complete the second stage of improvements which will be approximately 20th December.
A spokesman for Sefton Council said: “This will require the closure of Edge Lane at its junction with Buckley Hill Lane in both directions for 8 weeks, with a diversion via Broom’s Cross Road.”
“However we are making sure that adequate diversions and signage are to be in place during this closure to help reduce delays.”
Residents and businesses in the area have already been made aware of the works.
Traffic gridlock from Formby coming South and going North Marsh lane and Rimrose road ??? Did the council think this was a good idea ? Knock on effect is horrendous.
