The family of 55-year-old Tracy McCormack, from Litherland, have paid tribute following her death after she was found at a property in Netherton on Sunday 5 July.
At around 10am on Sunday, 5 July, Merseyside Police received a report from the North West Ambulance Service that a woman had died inside an address on St Ambrose Croft in Netherton.
At this stage, Tracy’s death is being treated as unexplained, and enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding what happened. A post-mortem examination will be carried out to determine the cause of death.
Tracy’s family have issued the following tribute:
“Tracy was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend.
“She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Our family kindly asks for privacy during this difficult time as we grieve this devastating loss.”
As part of the initial stages of the investigation, a 30-year-old woman from Netherton was arrested on suspicion of murder. She has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.
Detectives are continuing to pursue several lines of enquiry and are appealing for anyone who may have information that could assist the investigation to come forward.
Detective Chief Inspector Alan Nuttall said:
“Our thoughts continue to be with Tracy’s family at this tragic time and they are being supported by our family liaison officers.
“Although we have arrested a person in connection with the investigation, we continue to appeal for anyone with information to please contact us. Any information, no matter how small, will assist with our enquiries.”
