Major Police Incident – Coastal Road, Southport

Sefton Police have confirmed that the Coastal Road in Southport is currently closed following a serious road traffic collision this evening (Thursday, 11th September).

The closure is in place between Weld Road, Birkdale and Shores Road, Pontins, and came into effect at around 9:00pm. Police have advised that the road will remain shut until further notice and may still be closed during the morning rush hour.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and use alternative routes while emergency services deal with the incident.
