Merseyside Police is taking part in a national campaign to help remove dangerous weapons from our streets — and from 1st to 31st July 2025, members of the public will be able to anonymously and safely hand in ninja swords at designated police stations.
This is in response to a change in legislation: from 1st August 2025, it will be illegal to own, sell, or import ninja swords under the Offensive Weapons Act.
📍 Drop-Off Details:
Surrender points are located at police stations across Merseyside
Visit the Merseyside Police website to check opening hours
When surrendering a weapon, please wrap it securely and place it in a sealed bag or box for safety
Superintendent Phil Mullally, Merseyside Police’s Lead for Serious Violence and Knife Crime, said:
“While incidents involving ninja swords are thankfully rare in Merseyside, this surrender supports our wider work to tackle knife crime and serious violence. Every weapon handed in is one less that could be used to cause harm.”
Let’s work together to keep Sefton and Merseyside safe.
