Operation Sceptre, Merseyside Police response to knife crime continues with open land searches

Due to recent issues of anti-social behaviour, including incidents involving knives and other weapons, Merseyside Police have set up Operation Sceptre.

A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said: “As part of Operation Sceptre, Local Policing Team Officers from #Southport police station have today, Wednesday 28th April, been conducting open land searches at Compton Park in #Birkdale, Duke Street Park and the Shorrocks Hill site in #Formby.”

“Merseyside officers have also spent time patrolling the Sefton Estate and engaging with shops and the community, community centres and speaking with members of the public in the Marian Square.”

“Work will continue on other sites throughout the week.”
