Police have sealed off a park in Litherland this morning following the discovery of a man’s body.
Merseyside Police were called to Hatton Hill Park at around 6.15am on Wednesday, April 8, after receiving reports that a man in his 40s had been found unresponsive.
Emergency services attended, however the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The death is currently being treated as unexplained, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
A police cordon remains in place at the park, with access restricted from entrances along Hatton Hill Road and Field Lane while enquiries continue. Officers, along with forensic teams, are present at the scene.
Residents in the area have expressed shock at the incident, with many waking to find a significant emergency services presence in what is usually a quiet local park.
Police are asking members of the public to avoid the area while investigations are ongoing.
