Person hit by a bus causing Police to close road outside the Strand in Bootle

Merseyside Police have closed Stanley Road in Bootle due to a person being hit by a bus.

Stanley Road is closed to traffic in both directions due to the police incident between A5098 Marsh Lane and A5057 Merton Road.

The cordon is in place outside of the Strand shopping centre and the bus is still within the cordon which goes from Barclays on Stanley Rd down to the junction with Vermont Way.

It has been confirmed that there was a crash involving a person and a bus.

The person was taken to hospital and police are awaiting further information about their condition.

The cordon remains in place at 1:55pm.
