Please DO NOT come to Formby, Ainsdale or Southport beaches. Everywhere is FULL and gridlocked

If you are heading to Formby, Ainsdale or Southport beach today, the car parks are completely FULL. There are National Trust staff working today and allowing a one out and one in system but the queues are really bad and waiting times may be as long as two hours. You can walk in for free with no waiting at all.

Please also remember that Southport Coastal Road is closed down there are huge delays throughout Ainsdale and Southport.

This photo shows the inconsiderate and disgusting parking in Formby. Please do not block people’s driveways or block the pavement!

MP Bill Esterson said: “I expect all visitors to the Sefton Coast to park responsibly and take their litter home. Although many do so, too many do not and this has a huge impact on the lives of residents. I have asked Sefton Council to update me on the actions they are taking following last weeks events. It’s an ongoing issue and one that is not easily solved, but further parking restrictions may be appropriate, as well as rethinking how the matrix signs are used to provide information to visitors.”

This photo is of last week in Formby when there was complete gridlock and it was a nightmare for local residents as well as dangerous because no emergency vehicles would have been able to get through if there was an emergency.
