Police are appealing for information after a 51-year-old man died following a collision in Maghull last month

We can sadly confirm that a man has died following a collision in Maghull last month.
At 6.53am on Wednesday 22 October, emergency services were called following a report that a black Range Rover Velar had been involved in a collision with a 51-year-old man on Station Road, at the junction with Tailors Lane.
The pedestrian, who is from Maghull, was taken to hospital with serious injuries but sadly passed away on Friday 7 November.
A 64-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and remains under investigation on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and driving whilst unfit.
In a tribute, the man’s family said: “As a family, we are devastated by the tragic loss of life, following being hit by a car, on his regular walking journey to Maghull Station and work.”
"We are heartbroken that his life has been cut short and we have lost a brother, uncle, nephew and good friend. Forever in our hearts.”
"If anyone can please help with any information relating to the incident on Wednesday 22 October 2025 at 6.53am at the junction of Station Road and Tailors Lane, please contact the police."
Detective Sergeant Simon Duffy, Lead Investigating Officer from Merseyside Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “First and foremost our thoughts are with the family of the man who sadly died following the collision. His family continue to be supported by our family liaison officers.”
“We are determined to establish how this tragic incident occurred, and we are following numerous lines of enquiry to establish all the facts.”
“Despite a suspect being identified, this investigation remains ongoing and we remain very keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or was in the area at this time.”
"We know that motorists were in the area. I would urge any drivers and pedestrians who were heading towards the nearby Maghull train station to come forward so we can establish if you may have relevant information.”
"If you remember driving in this area of Maghull, shortly before 7am or you do so as part of your daily routine, please check your dashcam footage (front and rear) for any vital evidence which may help with our enquiries.”
