Merseyside Police have confirmed the details behind the recent evacuation of a supermarket in Bootle.
At around 10am on Friday, 6th June, officers were called to Asda on Strand Road following reports of suspicious behaviour involving a man who appeared to be holding an item.
Police attended the scene and found that the item was in fact a charging cable. After conducting thorough enquiries, officers established that the report was a false call made with good intent.
Shoppers were asked to leave the store as part of a full evacuation following an announcement over the store’s public address system. Police have now left the scene and the supermarket has since reopened.
We’re pleased to share that everything is back to normal at Asda. Let us know if you were affected by the evacuation in the comments.
