Police warn of cold callers operating in Marshside

Cold callers have been operating in the Marshside area of Southport over the last two days, offering to "fix dodgy ridge tiles" and the like. Fortunately one 83 year old lady was smart enough to decline the offer and ring us on 101 to report the incident.

Police advice is never to deal with cold callers to your home offering this kind of work, whether it be building, garden work, jet washing of driveways etc. For this kind of work, always try to deal with a reputable company, recommended by friends. Where possible, try to keep outer porch doors closed and speak to visitors through the glass.

Make your neighbours aware if you get 'cold called'.
