Police work to identify body found in Melling area this morning
Merseyside Police can confirm enquiries are underway following the discovery of a man’s body in the River Alt in the #Melling area this morning (Friday 9 August 2019).
Emergency services were called at around 7am and are currently working to identify the man.
His death is being treated as unexplained at this stage as further enquiries continue.
Road closures have now been lifted in the Melling area.
