Sefton woman and NHS nurse wins the national pageant title of Mrs Galaxy UK

Danielle Smith, who will be turning 50 this year, is celebrating after winning the national pageant title of Mrs Galaxy UK last month. Danielle, from #Formby, fought off the tough competition of women from all over the United Kingdom to take home the prestigious crown.

Danielle has spent the past few years being a ‘pageant mum’ to her daughter Libby, who is also a national beauty pageant winner. Libby sent off Danielle’s application without her knowledge, and Danielle took the opportunity in her stride, proving that age is just a number!

The UK Galaxy Pageant is one of the largest pageants in the UK, and the winners win a trip of a lifetime to America to compete at the Galaxy International Pageants! Danielle will be heading to Orlando, Florida this August as the UK representative for the Mrs division and will compete against other winners from all over the world for the Mrs Galaxy international title.

Danielle competed against married women of all ages and walked away with the crown. The glitz & glamour of the finals is a little different from her everyday life where she works as a nurse in the NHS. In the lead up to the Galaxy UK finals, Danielle raised money for various charities and took part in a number of charitable events, including an abseil down the Liverpool Cathedral!

Holly Pirrie, director of Galaxy UK, said: "I am so pleased for Danielle, she truly deserved to win the Mrs Galaxy UK title, I know how hard she has worked for this and behind the scenes previously for her daughter. Danielle is a beautiful woman, inside and out. We know she will be an excellent representative of the UK Galaxy organisation; she has a very exciting year ahead!"

Along with the crown and national title, Danielle has taken home an amazing prize package including an ultimate queen’s retreat in a glamourous hotel away with her sister queens, a £350 voucher to spend at The Dress Studio, and of course an all expenses paid trip to Florida! Her daughter Libby will be there to cheer her on!
