Southport Community Police Team attended the Chinese New Year Celebrations
At 20:00hrs last night, 8th February, Police officers from Southport Community Police Team attended the Chinese New Year Celebrations at The New China City Restaurant, King Street, Southport.
Officers assisted in implementing a road closure for a short period, whilst a traditional Dragon Dance was performed in the street. The event was enjoyed by patrons of restaurant, staff and local residents, with minimal disruption caused to motorists.
2019 is the Year of the Pig according to the Chinese zodiac. This is a Year of Earth Pig, starting from 5th February 2019 (Chinese New Year) and lasting until 24th January 2020. The Pig is twelfth in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac sign.
