Southport Offshore Rescue Team we’re called out yesterday, Monday 8th June at 9:45pm to search for a man that was missing between #Formby and Southport. Their Quads were tasked to aid Merseyside Police, HM Coastguard Crosby and HM Coastguard Southport in search for the missing male between Formby and Ainsdale.
A spokesperson for SOR said: “The quads entered the beach at Southport and quickly searched the tideline and foot of the sand dunes from Southport down as far as Lifeboat Road, Formby.”
“The Inshore Lifeboat was also launched to help with a tideline search, before the casualty was spotted at the top of a sand dune by the Police Helicopter.”
“Merseyside Police and the Coastguard Rescue Teams helped escort the man from the beach and all units returned to station.”
“Well done to all involved.”
