The incredible volunteers at Southport Offshore Rescue Trust deserve enormous praise following Wednesday’s (27th May) dramatic rescue at Southport Marine Lake.
After reports that a young child had fallen into the water and was not breathing, rescue crews responded immediately. The child had been pulled from the lake by family members, but it was the swift actions of the Southport rescue team who provided vital emergency casualty care before safely evacuating the child across the dunes to a waiting ambulance.
Their professionalism, training and rapid response undoubtedly gave the child the very best chance of survival.
Southport Offshore Rescue Trust is staffed by dedicated volunteers who give up their own time to help others, often responding to life threatening incidents at a moment’s notice.
The entire community owes them a huge debt of gratitude for the outstanding work they do day in and day out to keep people safe along our coastline.
Well done to everyone involved. You are true heroes.
We continue to send our best wishes to the child and their family.
