The Red Arrows, the mighty Typhoon, historic Spitfires, wingwalkers, flight simulators, a huge Military Village and family entertainment are all heading to Southport for one of the biggest weekends of the summer.
Southport Air Show returns on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August 2026, and with the full aircraft line-up now revealed, there is plenty to look forward to both in the skies and on the ground.
Even better for families, under 16s go FREE, gates open from 10am, and visitors travelling by train can take advantage of a special £2 Adult Return Merseyrail ticket from other Merseyrail stations on selected event dates.
✈️ An incredible line-up in the skies

The headline attraction will be the return of the world-famous Red Arrows, who are scheduled to appear on both days of the Air Show.

They will be joined by the awesome RAF Typhoon, while aviation history will come alive with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, featuring the Dakota, Hurricane and legendary Spitfire.

The confirmed military line-up includes:
• Red Arrows
• Typhoon
• Battle of Britain Memorial Flight – Dakota, Hurricane and Spitfire
• RAF Tutor

There is also a packed programme of civilian aircraft and displays:
• Rich Goodwin Jet Pitts
• Aerosuperbatics Wingwalkers
• The Starlings
• Strikemaster Solo
• Gazelle Squadron
• Hawk T1

• A26 Invader
• P-51 Mustang ‘Jersey Jerk’
The full flying timetable, including the exact times each aircraft will appear, is still to be released.

🎡 There is plenty happening on the ground too.
The Southport Air Show is about much more than watching the skies.
Between the flying displays, families will be able to explore a host of attractions including bungee trampolines, bumper cars and traditional games such as Hook a Duck.
Aviation enthusiasts will be able to get close to replica aircraft, while those who fancy experiencing something a little more intense can try the flight simulators and discover what it might feel like to be sitting in the cockpit.
Along Marine Drive, visitors will also find a wide selection of stalls selling everything from military memorabilia and original artwork to food, treats and children’s toys.
🇬🇧 Explore the Military Village
The Military Village on Marine Drive will feature equipment displays from the Armed Forces and provide visitors with an opportunity to meet members of the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force.
For anyone considering a future career in the Armed Forces, representatives will be available to explain more about the different roles and opportunities available.
Local Air Cadets will also be at the show, volunteering and encouraging young people with an interest in aviation to find out more about joining.
Air Cadet activities can include flying, sport, target shooting and adventure training, alongside opportunities for young people to work towards qualifications and awards including BTECs and Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
🚆 Travel to the Air Show for £2 with Merseyrail.

There is also good news for anyone considering leaving the car at home.
Merseyrail is offering a £2 Adult Return ticket, allowing passengers to travel to Southport station from any other Merseyrail station on selected event dates, including Southport Air Show.
That could make travelling by train one of the simplest and most affordable ways of reaching the event, particularly with thousands of visitors expected in Southport over the weekend.
