The M57 has been closed in both directions between J6 Kirkby and J7 Switch Island

UPDATE ON WEDNESDAY 8th December:
The M57 northbound is still closed between J6 and J7
ORIGINAL:
There are now long delays as a result of this closure of the M57 between J6 (Kirkby) and J7 (Liverpool) in Merseyside.
There's approx 4 miles of congestion on M57 north approaching J6 and 2.3 miles of congestion on #M58 south approaching the M57 junction. Allow extra time.
Strong winds have damaged an overhead road sign and repairs are now being carried out.
Long delays on all approaches!
Avoid and go a different way.
