Merseyside Police have confirmed that three men have been arrested following a domestic incident that occurred in Netherton in the early hours of Thursday 3rd July.
At around 1am, emergency services were called to a property on Stanton Close, where a man in his 30s had reportedly been attacked with a knife inside the home. The victim sustained minor slash wounds and was taken to hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged.
As part of initial police inquiries, three men aged 22, 34, and 37, all from the Netherton area, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder. They remain in custody as investigations continue.
Detective Inspector Ted Barr said: “This was clearly a serious assault on the victim, but thankfully he only received minor injuries and has already been discharged from hospital.”
“This could have been far worse and I want to reassure the community in Netherton that we are taking this extremely seriously and have a zero tolerance approach to all forms of knife crime.”
“Officers remain at the scene, and a cordon is still in place this morning as we carry out CCTV and house-to-house enquiries.”
“We are also keen to speak with anyone who may have witnessed anything or has doorbell or CCTV footage from the area. Although we’ve made three arrests, we’re still appealing for anyone with information to come forward.”
