Three Arrested on Suspicion of Class A Drug Offences in Bootle

Three people have been arrested after police discovered suspected Class A drugs while carrying out a welfare check at a property in #Bootle.

Officers attended the address at around 12.40am on Thursday 23 July to check on the welfare of the occupant. After entering the property, they spotted an open carrier bag on a kitchen worktop containing numerous wraps of brown and white powder, believed to be cocaine and heroin.

During further searches, officers also recovered a quantity of suspected cannabis and cash.

A 52 year old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (crack cocaine) and possession of a Class B drug (cannabis).

A 39 year old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and acquiring, using or possessing criminal property.

A 54 year old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (crack cocaine and heroin).

All three remain in police custody while enquiries continue.

Sefton Area Commander Karl Baldwin praised the officers involved, saying:

“This was fantastic work by the officers who attended the property.

“As a result we have seized a significant quantity of suspected Class A drugs.

“The arrests came just hours before our latest Operation Vanguard strike day, which aims to target criminality in Sefton and across Merseyside, including the supply of Class A drugs, and shows that our work goes on around the clock.”
