Three teenage boys have been arrested following a burglary in Bootle on Monday 19 January.
At around 2.50pm we received a report of a burglary on Waller Street where three males had been seen inside a house in the area.
When officers searched the address the front door was open and damage had been caused to furniture in the house.
After speaking with members of the public in the area officers were told that the three males left the house with a TV and were still in the area.
Officers later spotted the boys in an alleyway on Waller street who ran from the area but were then stopped and detained at a nearby address where the TV was found.
Three boys aged 13, 15 and 16 from Bootle were arrested on suspicion of burglary. They were taken to a police station in Merseyside where they remain in custody.
Detective Inspector Sara Lang said: “Information from members of the public was key to the swift arrests made by our officers in Bootle yesterday.
“Burglaries like these can have a massive impact on the person and families affected as they have had their home invaded which is an awful experience to go through and can also impact residents who live nearby.
“I hope these three arrests show that we will continue to pursue any anti-social behaviour on our streets and bring offenders to justice to prevent further burglaries.
“Merseyside Police’s Winter of Action, taking place between 1 December and 31 January 2026, is a major policing push to keep our communities safe during and beyond the festive season by tackling crime, reassuring communities, and ensuring our streets are welcoming and safe for everyone.
“Please continue to come forward and tell us what you know so we can take action in your area.”
