Travellers have broken the lock to access Rimrose Valley. There are about seven caravans at the moment but obviously more will arrive as the night goes on.

The camp has been set up on the running track. The running track in Rimrose Valley Country Park, also known as ‘Chaffers’ was restored after hard work from volunteers and community groups.
The athletics track, in the ‘Chaffers’ section of the large park, had been popular with locals and schoolchildren but became overgrown and unusable over the years. Volunteers were busy during lockdown working on the site and with the help of Jamie Carragher’s charity, the 23 Foundation, the running track was returned to its former glory.
Also involved in the project was Rimrose Valley Friends, Rimrose Runners club and Marsh Lane Harriers running club.
Everyone worked so hard and we definitely don’t want it destroyed by 4x4 vehicles.
Please report the travellers with this link, we have also reported it and hopefully they will be removed after their illegal access sooner rather than later…

Jamie Payet on Rimrose Valley Friends Facebook page said: “The more reports the better. And please don't be intimidated. Make sure you do your normal activities of walking dogs, jogging and walking round the track. Take a break on the benches and let the folks know they are camped on a busy active public space.”
