Officers in Ainsdale arrested two men and seized drugs and suspected stolen clothing and cars yesterday, Monday, 26 April.
A spokesperson from Merseyside police said: “At around 8.55pm, patrols carried out the stop search of a man in Sandbrook Road, before subsequently searching a property on the street.”
“During the search, they seized a quantity of cash, suspected cannabis and cocaine, along with items of suspected stolen designer clothing.”
“During a search of the garden, a number of suspected stolen cars and car parts were also located.”
“An 18-year-old man and a 44-year-old man, both from Sefton, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs, theft of motor vehicle and two counts of burglary other than a dwelling. They have since been released under investigation.”
Detective Inspector Chris Smith said: “An investigation is underway following a significant seizure of drugs and suspected stolen items in Ainsdale yesterday, and thankfully due to the quick thinking of patrols in the area, these harmful drugs have now been prevented from reaching our communities.”
“Information from the public plays a vital part in targeting individuals involved in the supply of drugs and serious and organised crime, and I would like to continue to urge our communities to come forward to us, or to Crimestoppers completely anonymously, so that we can take action.”
