Woman fighting for her life after stabbing incident in Bootle

A woman is in critical condition following a serious stabbing incident at a business premises on Stanley Road in Bootle this evening.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 5:05pm (Friday), near the junction with Wadham Road, after reports of a domestic-related assault.
According to Merseyside Police, a woman in her 40s sustained a stab wound to her torso and was taken to hospital, where she is currently described as being in a critical condition.
A 47-year-old man from Widnes has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a bladed article in a public place. He has been taken into custody for questioning.
A large cordon remains in place around the area while officers continue their investigations, and the public is being asked to avoid the location while enquiries are ongoing.
