Merseyside Police have arrested a man and recovered a suspected stolen off-road bike and drugs following an incident in Bootle last night, Monday 4 June. At around 9.20pm, officers attended the area of Hornby Road, Bootle to reports of scrambler bikes being ridden in the area. Officers attended a location in Hornby Road and located a Honda off-road bike in a downstairs room. Following further searches, suspected cocaine, heroin, cannabis and cash were also seized. Enquiries are ongoing to identify the owner of the bike. An 18-year-old man from Bootle was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods, supply of Class B drugs, supply of Class A drugs, disqualified driving, using a motor vehicle on a road/public place without insurance, and refusing to provide a sample for a Class A drug test. He has been taken into custody for questioning. Chief Inspector Gary O'Rourke, who leads Operation Brookdale, the force response to off-road bike issues, said: "This arrest is a reminder that if you provide information about suspected dangerous and anti-social use of off-road bikes in your area, we will take action against those we believe are involved in this and in any associated criminality. "Keep coming forward with this information, which is helping us every day in reducing the impact of these bikes across our communities."
