A man has been arrested after officers recovered a suspected stolen Sur-ron bike, ammunition and cannabis following an incident in Netherton.
At around 5.55pm on Wednesday 29 April, officers on patrol in the area spotted a man riding what they believed to be a stolen Sur-ron bike. The rider was followed to a nearby address, where officers carried out a warrant.
During the search, police located the bike along with a quantity of cannabis and ammunition.
A 19 year old man from Netherton was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, possession of ammunition for a firearm without a certificate and possession of a Class B drug. He remains in police custody.
Detective Inspector Gavin Mulcahy said: “Thanks to the proactive work of officers who are determined to keep our streets safe in Netherton, we have arrested a man and seized a stolen Sur ron bike, cannabis and ammunition.”
“Firearms and ammunition have no place on our streets and we remain committed to removing them and the people who choose to carry them.”
“It is absolutely vital that we get all information from those communities who feel the impact of gun crime, so we can bring those responsible to justice.”
“We rely on community intelligence to discover where weapons are being stored and who is using them and I would ask that the public continue to be our eyes and ears.”
Anyone with information about the use or storage of weapons is urged to contact Merseyside Police via direct message on X or Facebook through Merseyside Police Contact Centre. Information can also be reported via the Merseyside Police website or by calling 101.
