A mixture of sunshine and blustery showers on Christmas Eve, potentially heavy and thundery at times. A breezy day, but temperatures up slightly on Friday. Maximum temperature 9°C.


Some dry and clear spells overnight, however blustery showers continue, these heavy with a risk of hail and thunder at times. Breezy, particularly at the coasts. Minimum temperature 6°C.

Christmas Day - Sunday:

Sunshine and blustery showers continue through Christmas Day, with a more organised band of rain arriving from the west later, perhaps becoming wintry in the very far north. Feeling mild. Maximum temperature 9°C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Remaining breezy with showers and sunny intervals but cooler on Boxing Day. More prolonged rain perhaps arriving from the west on Tuesday and Wednesday. Becoming milder from Tuesday onwards.
