A man has today, Thursday 26 June, been jailed for three years and four months following a series of burglaries in Sefton.
Ian Barry Thompson, 50, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to five burglaries at homes in the Crosby and Litherland areas during a two-week period in October last year. He also asked for a further two offences to be taken into consideration.
He was today sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court.
Detective Inspector Kevin O’Rourke from our dedicated burglary team, Operation Castle, said: "We know that being a victim of burglary can have a massive impact and I want our communities to feel reassured that we will do everything in our powers to find those responsible and bring them to justice.”
"We act on information we receive and would encourage people to come forward if they know anything about a burglary or the sale of stolen goods where they live.”
"We also have a 'Public CCTV Submission Portal' that people can access to upload their own footage from home security cameras or smart doorbells to help us catch burglars."

If you discover video footage on your home security camera or smart doorbell that shows someone acting suspiciously on your property, you can upload it for the attention of the Operation Castle team. Footage of suspicious circumstances can help detectives build cases by piecing together aspects of suspects' descriptions and identifying their movements at particular locations and times.
The submission portal is easy to use. Upload your footage here:
