Ainsdale Beach car park will officially reopen on Wednesday 1st April, marking the start of the spring and summer visitor season along the Sefton coastline.
The popular beach destination will once again welcome visitors seven days a week from 10:00am to 6:00pm, with last entry at 5:00pm. However, visitors are advised that closures or restrictions may be put in place due to tides, weather conditions or special events.
Regular visitors who are Sefton residents can benefit from a season ticket costing just £40, offering excellent value across the season. The same price applies to hybrid and electric vehicle drivers, while non residents can purchase a season ticket for £80.
For those making occasional trips, day parking is available at £10 per vehicle, and blue badge holders can park free of charge.
The quickest and easiest way to apply for a season ticket is online, and a cashless payment system will be in place for day visitors.
Seasonal staff will be on site daily to support visitors, help maintain safety, and protect Ainsdale’s internationally important natural habitats. Visitors are encouraged to check for daily updates before travelling, especially during periods of high tides or poor weather.
Facilities at the beach include summer toilets and a Changing Places facility, which is available all year round for people who are unable to use standard accessible toilets.

Councillor Mhairi Doyle, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Public Health and Wellbeing, said Sefton residents and environmentally friendly vehicle users can once again make significant savings through the season ticket scheme. She added that income generated from parking is used by Green Sefton to support conservation work, maintain facilities, provide staffing, and invest in the long term care of the Sefton coastline.
The reopening of Ainsdale Beach car park is always a key moment locally, signalling the return of busy beach days, family visits and seaside walks as the warmer months approach.
