RTC in on Sandbrook Road in Ainsdale

The Air Ambulance are in attendance at an RTC in #Ainsdale on Sandbrook Road.

It was a 3-year-old boy that was involved in the RTC with a van.

An eyewitness at the incident said: "It was not a hit and run, the driver was amazing and stayed with the little boy and his mum throughout the whole ordeal. The little boy was so brave."

The emergency services are on site and police have closed the roads between Limont and Stavely Roads. Please avoid the area.

We don't have any more information at this stage but we will keep you updated.

UPDATE at 4:55pm.

Ambulances have left the scene but the helicopter is still there. The roads remain closed off but there is a huge police presence all on blue lights around Ainsdale.

UPDATE at 7pm.

Al roads are now re-opened and the little boy is okay and doing fine.
